Welcome to Motcombe Village Hall

Motcombe is a popular village situated in North Dorset between Shaftesbury and Gillingham.  The volunteer-run Memorial Hall is a busy community hall at the centre of a wide range of village activities from Moviola to Scouts, from the Merry Muddlers to Parish Council meetings, Pilates to live streaming of theatre and ballet.

It has three primary rooms.  The original Main Hall, built in 1928, has a seated capacity of 90 and is full of character.  It boasts a well-equipped kitchen, recently refurbished stage and a high quality audio-visual system.  The Pavilion, an extension added in 2010 seats 60.  It has an imposing glass frontage opening onto the Recreation Field, making this a particularly light and airy space.  Clock Hall was built in 2019 with the aid of a grant from the EU Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.  Seating 50 and having its own small integral kitchen and toilet facilities, it is proving a very popular place for exercise classes, meetings and parties.

The Hall has its own car park, with a normal capacity of 30 cars.  It benefits from superfast FTTP broadband, with a good signal in all areas, a high definition audiovisual system and the ability to stream content via satellite or internet.  The stage in the Main Hall has been recently refurbished, with new lighting, curtain and drapes.

In addition to the many village organisations who use the facilities, we welcome village residents and non-residents who would like to hire one or both of our halls.
